Today is my last day of work this year. Of course, as an entrepreneur work never completely stops, there are always ideas and insights that pop into our heads even when we are not working. What I mean is today is the last day of desk work.
In preparing for holidays and the end of 2014, I am in celebratory mood. I intend to have a joyful, easy and graceful transition into the new year, while connecting with my vision for 2015 away from my work space. Of course, there is always one more programme to create, one more email to send and one more goal to reach, one more prospect to connect with. So how do you know when to stop? For me it is clear. I feel this is a perfect time to stop, my body is telling me it’s time to rest, my mind wants creative inspiration beyond my daily work, messages in my morning journalling signal that it is time to close this working year.
Before beginning to look into what we desire for 2015 and get excited about new plans, it is essential to ground our achievements and celebrate our successes. As a society, we are always rushing to get to the next point, to make new plans, get to that next level. However, without recognising our successes and feeling gratitude for how far we have come on our journeys, there is no enjoying of the present moment.
This is what I intend to do in this blog post – celebrate my lessons, successes, memorable moments, manifested desires, courageous steps of 2014.
2014 was the year…
… I left my corporate job and committed to living a lifestyle I have (secretly) been dreaming of for years. This is a big one for me. Taking that step was scary, terrifying, but I never looked back.
… I started my own business. This is another big one. This journey is not an easy one, it is full of challenges but it is the most exciting thing I’ve ever done. If you want to accelerate your personal growth, I highly recommend starting your own business and make sure you get all the support your require.
… of travel. I visited 10 countries, some of them 2 or 3 times, explored new cities and old favourites – Paris, Barcelona, Lisbon, Lyon, San Francisco, Santa Fe, Savannah, Mexico City, Oaxaca, Venice. Unrestricted travel after having only 24 days of holiday per year for 10 years was what transformed me this year, it brought out my inspiration, passion and ignited my desires.
… I learned to receive support that I require, be it emotional support from loved ones and friends or gifting myself support from coaches and professional service providers. If there is one thing I learned this year is that it is impossible to be successful on this entrepreneurial journey on your own.
… I moved to my favourite area in London – leafy and stylish Canonbury – and started living together with my partner. I love our new home and life.

… I met with the most inspiring, supportive and wonderful women, who had an amazing impact on my life – both personally and professionally. Being part of female entrepreneurial community where everyone celebrates you and is willing to help has made this year for me. After spending 10 years in not always very friendly environments in the corporate world, I am loving my new environment, where women are truly celebrated.
… of my first even tax return. Thanks for knowledgeable and very supportive Rosie Slosek of One Man Band Accounting, it was a smooth experience.
… I began to host my own seminars and realised how much I enjoy being in front of an audience (if they are my ideal audience, which I was lucky to get this year). My last seminar was on creating a magnetic personal brand. There is more in the pipeline for 2015. Watch this space.

… of professional photo shoots. I enjoyed the experience on both occasions (there were two) more than I could have ever imagined and planning to do more in 2015. It is important to create beautiful, professional images for us entrepreneurs who desire to attract clients with their unique expression and magnetic personal brands.
… of connecting and working with inspiring people from all walks of life. Looking forward to more!
… I learned to ask for help, not hint, not wait that someone may give me what I need, ask directly. This has transformed my relationships and empowered me in ways I could not imagine.
… of fun and exploring. This year I have truly reconnected with what brings me pleasure and inspiration on a daily and weekly basis. I infused this in my business and even introduced weekly play days on Mondays to raise my vibration and inspire me to create from a place of enjoyment.

… I gifted myself the self-care I have always dreamed of. After 10 years of dreading mornings on weekdays, I now look forward to waking up and enjoying my sacred time with my body and mind without any external information, emails or news.
And building on from this. 2014 is the year I finally started a regular mediation practice after many failed attempts. This has connected me to my intuition and raised my confidence.
… I stepped into visibility with my personal brand that reflects all of who I am. I am looking forward to growing and evolving it in 2015.
… I began to acknowledge the value I have and the impact I am capable of making. This helped me to let go of perfectionism, step out of hiding out of fear of criticism and share my truth and knowledge with others.
… I defined success for myself and committed to it. No more settling and limiting myself.
